Letter to Senator Reid

I have today sent the following email message to Senator Reid through his official website -

I really want to know the rationale behind the new "surge" of war in Iraq so that we can exit. Why can't we just GO? I have read what Dennis Kucinich has had to say about this and he makes sense. There seems to be no good reason to spend more innocent lives and more taxpayer dollars on this insanity.

I, personally, worked very hard this past election season to elect Democrats. Unfortunately here in Nevada we were not as successful as we had hoped on the National scene. But all across the country there are people like me who WERE successful in helping American voters express their desire for PEACE. The people spoke loud and clear. We do not want to be war mongers on the world stage. We want to be keepers of PEACE. That means being courageous enough to admit a wrong, make amends and move on through words and deeds to prove to our sisters and brothers around the world that NUMBER ONE: Democracy works and when the people speak, their elected officials listen and respond accordingly. THIS is the way to spread democracy - by LIVING IT. Please Senator Reid, do not accept President Bush's stubbornness as rationality. Bring our fighting troops home and if we must leave troops there, make them Rebuilders not Killers. WE WERE WRONG to invade Iraq. Let's make amends. Let's do the right thing.
